Faction meta & rankings

Every season in a game that records factions (Kill Team and Warhammer 40,000 both do) has a Meta tab. It answers the question organizers were bouncing out of the app to look up: what's winning in this league? Two tables, both built from this league's counted regular-round games (confirmed, or awarded by forfeit) — not from a worldwide ranking, and not from numbers the app made up.

The league Meta tab: a faction win-rate table above the player rankings, both from this season's counted games, confirmed or forfeited.

Faction meta

One row per faction that actually appeared in a counted game, with how often it was brought (share of the meta), its W-D-L, win rate, and VP differential. Rank is popularity first, then win rate, then name — so the faction half the league is playing sits above a one-game fluke, even if that fluke is undefeated.

The factions are the ones recorded on the game when the result was confirmed, not the ones on someone's loadout and not a counts-as alias. "World Eaters (Angels of Death)" is a label; the meta table still counts Angels of Death, because that's the rules the opponent prepared against. A side with no faction recorded simply doesn't contribute an appearance — the other side of that game still can.

Only regular-round games that have been confirmed (or awarded by forfeit) count, the same set the standings use. Finals never leak into it. A forfeit counts toward the record but contributes 0 VP, so it doesn't distort a faction's differential.

Player rankings

The same table as Standings, in the same order: league points, then this season's tiebreakers. Win % is extra display — wins over games played, with draws counted as non-wins — and it never re-ranks the table. If the two lists ever disagreed, that would be a bug, not a second ranking.

The Meta tab is the snapshot. The Standings page is still the ledger: the full table, the recap underneath it, op stats, the timeline.

This league, and every league

The season Meta tab

This league's games only. That's the one to open when someone asks what's winning here.

The global Meta page

Win rates across every league on Pairings Up, split by game so Kill Team and 40k never mix. Signed-in, linked as "Faction meta" in the site footer, because it isn't any one season's.

A listed season's public page also shows the faction table once games have recorded a faction — the same numbers, no sign-in. It stays off an unlisted season, like the rest of that page. See Sharing your league.

Set the faction you actually field on Loadout so it pre-fills when you report a result; you can still change it per game. How the player table is ordered is on Standings & tiebreakers.
